Slovenia: For the second time NPP Krsko produced more than 6 TWh of electricity
, SEE Energy NewsNuclear power plant Krsko produced more than 6 TWh of electricity in a single year for the second time in its operational life.
Production exceeding 6 TWh was first achieved in 2014. The realized production in 2020 is slightly more than 1 % higher than planned, which is the result of a quality overhaul in 2019, thoughtful maintenance as well as favorable hydrology and consequently good thermodynamic utilization of the power plant.
In 2021, the challenge will be to maintain a high level of safety and operational efficiency and performing a successful overhaul in the spring, the completion of the Safety Upgrade Program and administrative procedures to extend the plant’s operational life – with the uncertainty of a further pandemic.
