The generation and consumption of electricity in Serbia has been balanced in the last several years. The Energy Sector Development Strategy of the Republic of Serbia by 2015, and its annex study, indicates an electricity shortage from the year 2011 due to the increase in electricity consumption in households and industrial plants and because of economic recovery.
