Minister of Energy, Zorana Mihajlovic declared that she expects the construction of “South Stream” pipeline through Serbia to begin in 2013.
“I believe that the construction will begin this year, according to the agreement with Russian partners, like it had been announced earlier”, Minister said on press conference in Serbian Government.
When she was answering the question if the construction of “South Stream” through Serbia was postponed to 2014, she said that she had heard this information for the first time.
She reminded that discussion about special law for “South Stream” project is in progress at Parliament currently. This discussion supposes to accelerate the realization of the project.
The construction of “South Stream” in Russia began at the end of the last year and it was announced that works on this main gas pipeline, that Serbia is going to invest 1,7 billion EUR, will start in the first quarter of this year.
