Turkey’s Privatization Agency announced the invitation in the Official Gazette for the sale of 10 hydropower plants owned by Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. Privatization will be carried out in five separate groups, collecting sealed bids for the transfer of operating rights for hydroelectric power.
Group 1 consists of Karacaören 1 and Karacaören 2; group 2 Kepez 2 and Manavga; group 3 Fethiye; group 4 Kadıncık 1 and 2 Kadıncık; and group 5 hydropower plants Doğankent, Kürtün and Torul.
Deadlines for the bids submission by groups are October 27th, October 14th, October 5th, November 10th and November 20th. Demand for certain groups ranges from 9 to 18 million dollars.
The legal person and the joint-venture group may participate at the tender. Tenderers may submit separate bids for more than one group but hydropower plants will not be sold outside their group. If there is a need, the tender commission will hold negotiations with the bidders. The tender could be finalized as an open auction with the suppliers participation with which they negotiated, if negotiations were not successful.
