Ukraine: Electricity exports increased in January 2016

Ukraine in January 2016 increased electricity export by 26.4% ( compared with same period in 2015), an increase for 72.1 million kilowatt-hours with total January export amount reaching 345.6 million kWh.

Electricity supplies from “Energy island Burshtyn TPP” in the direction of Hungary, Slovakia and Romania have decreased by 2.1% in the preceding month (5.9 million kilowatt-hours) compared to January 2015 amounted to 266.7 million kWh.

Electricity supplies to Poland in january amounted to 77.7 million kWh, while in January 2015 they were not realized.

In January 2016 UA to Moldova was delivered 1.2 million kilowatt-hours, to Belarus – 0,000,000 kWh against 0.9 million kWh and 0.1 million kilowatt-hours in January 2015, respectively.

Ukrainian electricity export to Russia was not carried out in the last month.

In addition, Ukraine in January 2016 imported 6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity compared to 369.4 million kilowatt-hours in January-2015.

As reported, Ukraine in 2015 reduced the export of electricity by 54.8% (4 billion 411.3 million kWh) compared to the 2014 year – up to 3 billion 641.6 million kWh.

Ukraine in 2014 exported 8.1 billion kWh of electricity in 2013 – 9.9 billion kWh in 2012 – 9.7 billion kWh in 2011 – 6.4 billion kWh, in 2010 – 4.2 billion kWh in 2009 – 4.1 billion kWh in 2008 – 7.9 billion kWh in 2007 – 9.2 billion kWh in 2006 year – 10.4 billion kilowatt-hours in 2005 – 8.4 billion kWh.
