Ukraine due to increased average daily temperature from 9 to 11 August increased electricity imports from Russia by 50% – up to 1200 MW.
This is evidenced by the operator of energy system of Ukraine – the state company “Ukrenergo”.
According to the company, the value of imports of electricity from Russia under a contract between the state company “Ukrinterenergo” and Russian “INTER RAO UES” at 21.00 on August 11 amounted to 1 200 MW, while the August 9 – 800 MW.
As noted in “Ukrenergo”, for two days the average temperature in Ukraine has increased to 27.7 degrees to 25.4 degrees. The maximum load on August 11 amounted 17 516 MW, whereas August 9 – 16 416 MW.
Coal reserves in warehouses of Ukrainian thermal power plants for the period: 10 to August 12 fell to 1.305 million tons from 1.306 million tons.
Imported price of electricity was 38.10 EUR per 1 MW / h, 6.5% above the May price.
Import of electricity from Russia to Ukraine is profitable because the cost of thermal power generation in August which is about 0.04 eurocent per kWh.
