In 2015, Ukraine’s energy generating capacity increased by 183.6 MW.
Thus, the total installed capacity of power plants amounted to 54 826.1 MW, of which 8622.3 MW of generation was in the uncontrolled territory of Donbass power system, the press service of “Ukrenergo” stated.
At the same time the introduction of new capacities only came from on RES.
In February 2015 Ukraine started the first RES “Old Sambor-1” (JSC “Eco-Optima”) with a capacity of 6.6 MW. Significant growth was recorded by the power plants on biomass – 19 MW.
However, the largest increase of installed capacity fell to thermal generation, through modernization.
Lugansk TPP had a reconstruction of unit №13 and in March 2015 set the first increased capacity for 35 MW to new output 210 MW;
At power unit №2 Krivoy Rog TPP increased capacity by 18 MW, and the results of the special test block relabeled with 282 by 300 MW in March 2015;
For 25 MW increased installed power unit №3 of Zaporizhzhya thermal power plant of 325 MW in May 2015;
On Kurakhovskaya TPP unit №9 increased capacity by 15 MW to 225 MW in December 2015 of;
Starobeshevskaya TPP had a reconstruction unit №12 and increased its capacity by 10 MW to 210 MW in April 2015.
During 2015 the installed capacity of large hydroelectric power stations increased by 30.3 MW, due to the fact that units of HPP “Ukrhydroenergo” from 2013 to 2015 carried out reconstruction: Kanevskaya HPP installed capacity increased from 475.5 to 482.5 MW; Kakhovka HPS – from 329 to 334.8 MW; Dneprodzerzhinsk hydroelectric power station – from 382 to 388 MW; Dnieper HPP – from 1539.8 to 1547.3 MW.
