Ukraine: The structure of the electricity production in power generation facilities January-May 2015

Electricity production in the integrated power system (IPS) of Ukraine in January-May 2015 decreased by 12.7% (10 billion 215.9 million kilowatt-hours) compared with the same period in 2014 – up to 70 billion 188.7 million kWh.

Production of non-conventional sources of electricity (Northern Electric Networks, biomass) for the period increased by 1.2% – to 739.9 million kWh.

The share of nuclear power plants in the structure electricity generation accounted for 53.5% (in January-May 2014 – 45.5%), thermal power plants and CHP plants – 36.5% (42.5%), hydroelectric and pumped storage – 4.9% (5 , 8%), utilities and power CHP stations – 4.0% (5.3%), alternative sources – 1.1% (0.9%).
