Only 50 kilometers northeast of Belgrade, at the site of Banat municipality of Kovin, has been officially put into operation the largest wind farm at the Balkan -Čibuk 1. Imposing project, which brings new 158 megawatts of renewable energy, today’s date will certainly type in capital letters in the new history of the power industry in Serbia.
Elnos Group has been a proud part of this enterprise where we are building electric power elements, which are today the backbone of a wind farm Čibuk 1 and push the limits of our current project management. This was a huge undertaking within which we, as a partner of the US General Electric, built substation 35/400 kV and 2 x 400 kV two system transmission line length of 11 kilometers.
Contract is based on ‘turn-key’ system according to the FIDIC Silver book. Our two-year scope of work was included complete engineering, design, equipment supply, installation, testing and put into operation.
Building endeavor of a wind farm Čibuk 1, whose 57 wind turbines will produce electricity for 113,000 households, was a challenge of impeccable professionalism, and the construction of all its elements for our team constantly putting the highest level of responsibility.
For our 12 engineers who were employed directly in the project and more than 70 assemblers, building a wind farm in Dolovo will be to be a task that will remember forever.
Hopefully, in the future we will be an important link for Serbia transition to renewable energy future.
