A total of 1,194,077 MWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) in January 2020, which is 36.7 % more compared to the previous month. Average daily traded volume in January amounted to 38,518.6 MWh. This is the highest monthly traded volume since the launch of the exchange. The average baseload price on the day-ahead market in January amounted to 55 euros/MWh, which is 29.4 % higher compared to December (42.49 euros/MWh), while average peak price was 60.87 euros/MWh (+ 20.3 %). Weighted average price was 55.72 euros/MWh. There were a total of 76 registered participants on the IBEX day-ahead market, the same as in the previous month. Regarding intraday market, a total of 54,634.4 MWh (- 17.2 %) was traded, with the average weighted price of 65 euros/MWh (+ 59.1 %). At the same time, 515,941.5 MWh of electricity was delivered on the centralized market for bilateral contracts in January (56.7 % less compared to December), with the weighted average price of 51.24 euros/MWh (+ 4.3 %).
