The industrial park operated by the construction materials manufacturer TeraPlast Bistrita, got a solar power plant. E.ON Energie, a Romanian subsidiary of German energy company E.ON, completed the construction of this solar power plant, following an investment of 1.9 million euros.
The project includes over 7,000 photovoltaic panels installed on the roofs of production halls and buildings and will generate about 11 % of electricity consumed by TeraPlast. It will also reduce long-term CO2 emissions by up to 660 tons per year. Last month, E.ON Energie agreed to build a solar power plant for the local tissue paper producer Don Pedro in Valcea county, the project is worth 630,000 euros. The new plant will include solar systems that will be mounted on the roofs of the 10 buildings of Don Pedro’s production units in Valcea county and will produce a total of 767 MWh of electricity per year, representing between 25 and 30 % of the company’s total electricity needs. The assembly of solar system already started in early July.
