Slovenia’s net electricity generation in January 2021 increased by 16 % compared to the same month last year, according to the data from the Statistical Office of Republic of Slovenia. In January 2021, total net electricity generation in Slovenia reached 1,415 GWh, which is 3 % less than in the previous month. At the same time, consumption reached 1,275 GWh, which is a 3 % increase compared to December 2020, and 4 % higher compared to January 2020. In January, production in thermal power plants increased by 21 % compared to the same month in 2019, production in hydropower plants increased by 35 %, while production at NPP Krsko remained unchanged. In January 2021, Slovenia imported 781 GWh (no change compared to January 2019) of electricity and exported 885 GWh (+ 39 %). Supply of energy commodities in general went down in January, except from the supply of heating oil which rose by 36 %, coke by 10 % and natural gas by 8 %. Compared to the previous month, a decrease in supply of other petroleum products (85 %) was recorded, as well as kerosene (76 %), hard coal (48 %), LPG (16 %), lignite and brown coal ( 7 %) and petrol (6 %).Compared to January 2020, the supply of other petroleum products decreased by 65 %, kerosene by 47 %, petrol by 42 %, hard coal by 38 %, diesel by 21 % and coke by 17 %.
