Albanian Power Distribution Operator OSHEE finalized the procurement of electricity for October, by purchasing 133,920 MW, for a total cost of over EUR 5.5 million.
Four companies entered the negotiation process phase and EFT, GSA and NOA have offered 98 percent of electricity at a price of EUR 41.6 per MWh.
This is the second OSHEE tender in which the price gap with the Hungarian Power Exchange is achieved, which is taken as a reference. The price on the Hungarian power exchange is currently around EUR 39 per MWh.
Devoll hydropower plant, which began official production in Banja HPP a few days ago, participated the tender. Devoll HPP offer was not accepted due to the required amount of electricity.
OSHEE company will soon be exempted from the obligation to supply large scale energy consumers. Customers connected to 20 kV and 35 kV network are entering the free market at the beginning of next year.
OSHEE spent EUR 88 million on electricity import in 2015.
