Distribution Operator of Electricity OSHEE announced import of 133.200 MWh worth 4.7 million euros for the entire month of April with an average price of 35.4 euros per megawatt. Hungary (HUPX) prices for imports which are OSHEE reference were for April level to 27 euros per MW / h.
Energy NOA Trade, AXPO doo Beograd, GEN-I Tirana sh.pk, GSA Ltd and EFT AG will begin delivering electricity to OSHEE JSC, under the conditions specified in the contract, announced OSHEE.
Out of the five companies awarded the cheapest price was offered by AXPO company with 33.8 MW / h, which also offered the lowest amount of energy.
Higher prices were provided by NOA EFT Energy Albania with 36.1 euros per MW /h.
OSHE launched the import tender after consultation with KESH energy corp which cant provide the electricity for covering of losses. For the period 01-10 April 2016, it was confirmed that KESH can not produce it even to cover losses in the distribution network.
For the period 21 to 31 April 2016, the final confirmation will be given until the date 19 April 2016.
According to official sources from OSHEE, the price adjustment of HUPX (Hungarian Stock Exchange that taken as reference) was:
– forecast in advance for April 27.42Eu / MWh,
– Price on 29 March, when it closed proceedings 28.7Eu / MWh .
According to OSHEE statement the power purchase prices depend not only on production price but also HUPX reference prices:
– the price of annual and monthly capacity about 3.5Eu / MWh;
– For the month of April 2016, 5 winner companies are paying tax obligations in Albania, 15% income tax and tax on dividends or specifically 1-1.5Eu / MWh;
– companies also have their operating costs , companies need to wait payment of energy contracts after 90 days from the last date of delivery, and this constitutes a significant reference:
– Reservation of around 2EU / MWh is a normal value in a situation where contracts for April are uncertain who will eventually delivered. Currently its not possible to confirm the extension of KESH supply contract for the period April 01-20 and hydrological forecasts may have cancel the import contracts for the dates 21-30 April 2016 as a result of growth in hydropower Fierza level.
OSHEE explains that while ongoing supply by KESH for the period February-March 2016 has made power purchase costs for this period halved compared with the planning.
