“Hidroelektrane na Vrbasu” (HEV), a subsidiary of Bosnian power utility ERS, which operates two hydropower plants Bocac 1 and Bocac 2, is planning to build a solar power plant Ada Polje on the left bank of the Vrbas river, some two kilometers downstream from HPP Bocac.
Solar power plant Ada Polje will have an installed capacity of 9.26 MW and estimated annual electricity generation of 11.75 GWh. The project’s cost is estimated to around 10 million euros.
HEV Acting Director Goran Milanovic said that solar panels can provide balanced electricity production, especially in summer, during lower water levels.
