The Government of the Republic of Srpska (RS) said that a land plot for the construction of liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Zvornik, a project worth 38.3 million euros developed in cooperation with Russian Gazprom, has been secured.

Back in December 2017, state-owned gas company Gas-Res and Gazprom’s subsidiary Gazprom SPG Technology signed an agreement and a letter of intent to establish a joint venture for the purpose of the construction of LNG plant in Zvornik.

The plant will be majority owned by Gazprom, which also has to find a financial partner for the project and provide the technology necessary for the plant’s construction. The plant is expected to use Russian gas as raw material and to sell the end product in BiH and abroad.
