Bosnia and Herzegovina: Mandatory share of RES electricity for FBiH in 2021
, SEE Energy NewsA decision that a mandatory share of electricity produced from renewable sources in 2021 would be 10.5 % was adopted by the Energy Regulatory Commission (FERK) of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).
The statement from FERK said that the share should be assumed by all suppliers who supply end customers in FBiH, as well as by qualified customers who import electricity for their own needs. Gross electricity production in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) in 2019 amounted to 9,664 GWh, of which 5,070 GWh or 52.5 % was produced in thermal power plants, 4,060 GWh in hydropower plants or 42 %, in industrial power plants 347 GWh or 3.6 %, production wind power plants is 166 GWh or 1.7 % while production of solar energy is 21 GWh or 0.2 %. Own consumption in power plants was 629 GWh.
