Bosnia and Herzegovina: Significant losses at HPP Visegrad in 2020
, SEE Energy NewsA subsidiary of Bosnian power utility ERS – “Hidroelektrane na Drini”, recorded a net loss of 6.1 million euros in 2020, compared to over a slight profit of 15,000 euros in 2019. The company’s operating revenues dropped to 12.8 million euros compared to around 15.8 million euros in 2019, while its expenditures rose to 18.6 million euros, compared to 15.8 million euros in the previous year. HPP Visegrad produced a total of 708.8 GWh of electricity in 2020, compared to 858 GWh produced in 2019. Highest monthly electricity production was recorded in March with 110.5 GWh. “Hidroelektrane na Drini” operates HPP Visegrad which was commissioned in 1989 and it has power output of 315 MW (3 x 105 MW) and average annual generation of 1,010 GWh of electricity. Record annual production was achieved in 2010 with 1,283.05 GWh.
