Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said that it has approved the acquisition of an indirect shareholding interest in local solar power plant operator Helios Projects by local investment company Malex Management, through its majority-owned unit Helios Energy Invest.
The regulator said that the transaction can not harm competition on the local markets for production of, and trade in, electricity, as the parties to the deal do not have a dominant position or significant market power.
Helios Energy Invest was recently established by Malex Management with the purpose of acquiring Helios Projects.
Bulgarian Helios Projects is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Switzerland-based H1 Venture Swiss Holding, which operates 50 MW solar power plant in Pobeda, near Pleven.
