Electricity production in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 5 November has decreased by 21% compared to the same period in 2022, to 33.51 TWh.
Bulgaria’s electricity consumption decreased by 5%, reaching 30.15 TWh.
Surplus electricity amounted to 3.36TWh in 2023, 68% less than in 2022.
Baseload power plants (coal, nuclear) produced 26.45 TWh of electricity in 2023, which is 26% less than in 2022.
The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources in the transmission network rose by 60% to 2,185.4 GWh, while RES share in the distribution network increased by 11% to 2,167 GWh.
