According to Bulgarian National Statistical Insti-tute, production of electricity in December 2019 increased by 7.5 % compared to November, to 4,070 GWh, while consumption of electricity also rose by 18.2 % on monthly basis and amounted to 3,377 GWh. Consumption of natural gas in Decem-ber 2019 increased by 29 % and amounted to 334 million cubic meters. Compared to December 2018, production of elec-tricity decreased by 14 %, while its consumption dropped by 7 %. Consumption of natural gas de-creased by 17.1 % compared to December 2018. In December, production of unleaded petrol re-mained approximately the same and amounted to 147,000 tons, while its consumption dropped by 17.5 % and amounted to 33,000 tons. Production of diesel in December decreased by 3.6 % com-pared to the previous month and amounted to 266,000 tons, while its consumption increased by 5.1 % and amounted to 187,000 tons. Consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in-creased by 17.1 % and amounted to 41,000 tons, while its production also dropped by 16.7 % and amounted to 10,000 tons. At the same period, production of solid fuels increased by 9.4 % to 2,607 thousand tons, while consumption of this energy resource also rose by 9.1 % to 2,662 thou-sand tons.
