Bulgaria: Electricity trade on IBEX in January, SEE Energy News
In January 2021, on the day-ahead market of the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX), a total of 2,089,623 MWh of electricity was traded, which is 19.1 % more compared to the previous month. Average daily traded volume in January amounted to 67,407.2 MWh. Traded volume in January 2021 was 75 % higher compared to the same month last year. The average baseload price on the day-ahead market in January amounted to 53.22 euros/MWh, which is 6.2 % lower compared to December 2020 (56.73 euros/MWh), while average peak price was 61.16 euros/MWh (- 10.7 %). There were a total of 83 registered participants on the IBEX day-ahead market, the same as in the previous month. Regarding intraday market, a total of 173,404 MWh (+ 52.1 %) was traded, with the average weighted price of 58.96 euros/MWh (- 17.9 %).
