The wholesale price of natural gas for August will most likely remain at the same level as in the previous month, according to Bulgarian Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR).
Public gas supplier Bulgargaz initially proposed a slightly higher wholesale natural gas price for August. According to the initial proposal, the price should be 31.9 euros/MWh, which is 3% higher compared to the price approved for July – 31 euros/MWh.
Bulgargaz said later that the price for August will remain unchanged or even slightly lower compared to the price for July.
Bulgargaz will submit the final request for the price applicable on 1 August.
The August price mix includes the whole amount of natural gas coming via the Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector under Bulgaria’s long-term agreement with Azerbaijan. Azeri gas will meet around 75% of the month’s consumption needs in Bulgaria and is essential for achieving a favourable price level.
