Bulgaria is one of potential buyers of Azeri natural gas. Bulgaria plans to buy one billion cubic meters of gas per year from Azerbaijan as of 2020 with the possibility of increasing the volume in the future.
Head of SOCAR Balkan, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Murad Heydarov said that the company is interested in entering the Bulgarian oil products market.
Heydarov noted that SOCAR is already holding talks with Bulgarian officials and the company believes that Bulgarian market is very promising. According to him, this is a long-term project, which prospects will be further discussed during the upcoming meeting of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria intergovernmental commission which will be held between 27 and 29 September in Baku.
