The construction of a new 400kV power transformer station in Vranje and its inclusion in the 110 kV network will enable long term and safe provision of electric power to South East Serbia. This will also enable reliable provision of power to distribution networks in Vranje and Leskovac from higher voltage levels.
Total funding necessary for the implementation of the project amounts to EUR 19.5 million; the European Union has donated EUR 15.5 million and Serbian Transmission System and Market Operator has contributed the remaining EUR 4 million. This project will also include the procurement of a power transformer for Leskovac 2 transformer station.
The construction of Vranje 4 power transformer station was preceded by the construction of a major electrical power corridor in Serbia
