Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said that the Government is planning to introduce zero VAT on investments in solar panels with the aim of strengthening the country’s electricity production from renewable sources and secure long-term energy supply. The general VAT rate in Croatia is 25 %.
As of 1 April this year, the Government has permanently reduced VAT on the sales of heating energy permanently to 13 from 25 %, also reducing VAT on natural gas from 25 to 5 % until 31 March 2023, before rising to 13 % afterwards, as part of its measures to tackle soaring energy prices.
