The final price of gas for households using the public gas supply service from the beginning of April will be 5.2 percent lower on average, which is a consequence of the drop in the cost of gas procurement, and the new prices will be valid until the end of September 2024, Croatia announced on Friday. energy regulatory agency (Hera).
Namely, Hera announced on its website that the Administrative Council of that agency, at the session held on March 19, adopted a Decision on the number of tariff items for the public gas supply service for the period from April 1 to September 30, 2024. year and this decision was published in the Official Gazette.
The decision, based on the Methodology for determining the number of tariff items for the public gas supply service and the guaranteed supply of gas prices for end customers of the household category who use the public gas supply service for the period from April 1 to September 30, 2024, for all distribution areas in Croatia.
– By applying the appropriate formula from the Methodology, and according to data from the TTF market, the cost of gas procurement for the period from April 1 to September 30, 2024, is 0.0264 euros per kilowatt hour (euro/kWh) or 26.40 euros per megawatt hour (euro /MWh), which represents a reduction of 44.5 percent compared to the cost of gas procurement, which was 47.60 euros/MWh until March 31, 2024, that is, a reduction of 5.2 percent, taking into account the subsidy from the Government of the Republic of Croatia EUR 19.90/MWh, which applies until March 31, 2024, according to Hera.
They also point out that the cost of distribution and the cost of gas supply will remain unchanged even after April 1. Otherwise, the cost of distribution is determined separately for each distribution area by decision of Here, and the cost of supply is determined for all distribution areas based on a public tender for the selection of suppliers in the obligation of public gas supply service for the period from April 1, 2021, to September 30, 2024. years.
– The new final price of gas supply for end-customers of the household category who use the public gas supply service, for the period from April 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024, has been changed compared to the current one due to the change in the cost of gas procurement, and will be in all distribution areas lead to a reduction in the final price of gas supply, they point out from Hera.
According to the data they present, the average final price of gas until March 31, 2024, with VAT of five percent and without government subsidy is 65.22 euros/MWh, and with government subsidy, it is 45.32 euros/MWh.
From April 1, however, that average final price (with five percent VAT) will amount to 42.96 euros/MWh, which is 2.36 euros or 5.2 percent less than the price valid until the end of March.
