According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in January 2022 amounted to 1,512 GWh, which is 15.3 % lower compared to January last year, when the production amounted to 1,786 GWh.
During January, 753 GWh of electricity or 49.8 % was produced in hydropower plants, 426 GWh or 28.2 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 234 GWh or 15.5 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 916 GWh of electricity, 7.3 % less compared to last January (988 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 716 GWh, 36.7 % less compared to January 2021 (1,131 GWh).
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 61 million cubic meters of natural gas in January 2022, 12.9 % less compared to January last year. Natural gas imports stood at 207 million cubic meters, 15 % more than in January 2021. Crude oil production stood at 48,000 tons, approximately the same as in January last year. Production of petroleum products stood at just 10,000 tons in January 2022, without change compared to the same month last year.
