According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in June 2021 amounted to 880 GWh, which is 4.4 % lower compared to June last year, when the production amounted to 920 GWh.
During June, 426 GWh of electricity or 48.4 % was produced in hydropower plants, 279 GWh or 31.7 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 86 GWh or 9.8 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 931 GWh of electricity, 12.4 % more compared to last June (828 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 337 GWh, 24.8 % higher compared to June 2020 (448 GWh)
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 63 million cubic meters of natural gas in June 2021, 16 % less compared to June last year. Natural gas imports stood at 186 million cubic meters, approximately the same as in June 2020. Crude oil production stood at 45,000 tons, which is 8.2 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 297,000 tons in June 2021, compared to 279,000 tons in the same month last year.
