Croatia: New power market player, Croatian Telecom begins offering electricity
, SEE Energy NewsCroatian Telecom begins offering electricity to the citizens and businesses from 9th December, and the company points out that it will offer the best market conditions. The offer is made up of a number of benefits: the price of electricity offered by HT is lower than 5% in relation to universal service by a dominant supplier for residential users, or up to 30% for business users. In addition, the HT will be the sole supplier of all that does not charge a fixed fee for the supply of electricity, which for the household is 9.25 kunas per month, and for small and medium business users 43.75 kunas (prices are with VAT).
– By entering the electricity market, HT further strengthens its position as one of the key drivers of the development of the Croatian economy through the expansion of the service portfolio. We decided to enter the market to supply electricity because we can offer customers a really good price and service. Under conditions of intense competitive match we stayed a leading provider of telecommunication services due to the fact that we listen and hear the needs of our customers and strive to find the best way to answer them. The same approach, I believe, HT may lead to a position as the leading alternative supplier of electricity – said Ivica Mudrinic, President and CEO of T-HT.
HT has prepared a welcome bonus for first users. If the service contracts by 31 December 2013, every new private electricity user gets an additional discount of 300 kunas. In the case of business customers, the amount of the bonus in this period is even 575 kunas, distributed as well as private users at first, and several other accounts until you use the total amount of discount. Moreover, a user of electricity in HT is not required to sign a contract liability, with a minimum duration in order to achieve the best price, which means that he may change supplier at any time without penalty.
On average monthly bill for electricity supply, according to HT, all households which apply until 31 December 2013, the first year will save up to 26 percent, compared to the universal service of the dominant supplier. The total amount of the discount is 500 kunas first year, or 200 kunas or 11% each year thereafter. For business users the savings are even greater, and they amount 30% in the first year and 22% in each subsequent year in relation to the service of the dominant supplier. The exact amount of savings the user can calculate with the help of online calculators available on the web site hrvatskitelekom.hr.
