, SEE Energy NewsA total volume of 417,379.1 MWh of electricity was traded on the Croatian energy exchange CROPEX in February 2022, which is 21 % less than in January, of which 374,707.5 MWh on the day-ahead market and 42,671.6 MWh on the intraday market. Traded volume in February 2022 was 36.1 % lower compared to the same month last year.
Average daily base price on day-ahead market in February amounted to 195.4 euros/MWh, which is 5.5 % lower than in the previous month, while average euro-peak price reached 211.14 euros/ MWh, 9.2 % lower compared to the previous month. The average price on the intraday market was 189.78 euros/MWh, 7.3 % lower compared to January.
There are 27 participants on CROPEX day-ahead market (the same as in the previous month), eighteen of which have been active on the intraday market as well. Average daily traded volume on the day-ahead market in February amounted to 13,382.4 MWh.
CROPEX was launched on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool, Europe’s leading electricity exchange, and is co-owned by the Croatian electricity transmission system operator (HOPS) and the Croatian electricity market operator (HROTE). Intraday market was launched in April 2017. On 19 June 2018, after joint project of Croatian and Slovenian transmission system operators and power exchanges, CROPEX day ahead market was successfully coupled with MRC markets through Croatian – Slovenian border.
