The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to declare the state of endangered security in the electricity supply for 2024, due to the extreme increase in prices and the insufficient supply of electricity on the market. The decision will enable the Government to adopt measures that will prevent the price of electricity from rising by more than 60 percent.
The decision was made at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry.
According to the analysis of the EPBiH, under the current market conditions, the average market price of electricity for 2024 would amount to 141.53 euros/MWh, so the average increase would be 87 percent.
Without the application of any type of price limitation of electricity supply, more than 96 percent of current electricity customers to whom previous decisions on price limitation were applied, would have a price increase of more than 60 percent, explained the executive authority in FBiH.
