According to data published by Greek electricity transmission system operator ADMIE, electricity consumption has dropped by 13.1 % year-on-year in August 2022. This is the third consecutive month with decreased consumption on the annual basis.
Residential and commercial consumers contributed the most to this reduction, decreasing their electricity consumption by 13.94 % compared to August 2021. On the other hand, large industrial consumers, connected to high-voltage network, have reduced consumption by an annual 3.24 %.
Greek electricity consumption dropped by 11.24 % year-on-year in July. Consumption in June rose slightly compared to last year, by 1.28 %, while May consumption was 3.37 % higher than that in May last year.
