Greece, Green PPAs to be introduced as a measure against soaring electricity prices
, SEE Energy NewsGreek Minister of Energy Kostas Skrekas said that the Ministry will forward a model for green-energy power purchase agreements (PPAs) to the European Commission for a swift approval, which is seen as a measure to prevent the brunt of soaring electricity prices being borne by end consumers.
The Ministry considers the green PPAs as a cost- reduction mechanism for large industrial energy consumers, as they will be able to cover a significant portion of their energy demand using RES-based electricity, which is a cheaper option.
