Greece, Iberdola begins installation of 50.4 MW Askio III wind farm
, SEE Energy NewsSpanish company Iberdrola has begun construction of its 50.4 MW Askio III wind farm in Greece, it was announced on Monday.
The project is located next to Mount Askio, near the town of Kozani in the Greek region of Western Macedonia.
The company said it was transporting 12 4.2 MW turbines to the site and hoped to complete the installation by next fall to avoid frequent snowfall in the area during the winter months.
The contract for the supply of turbines for Askio III was awarded last year to the Danish company Vestas Wind Systems A / S.
Iberdrola has three more wind farm projects in Greece. He is currently installing the 33.6 MW Mikronoros wind farm in the Rhodope region and plans to start construction of the 18 MW Rokani and 37.8 MW Askio II projects this year, the Spanish group added.
