Greek RAE says in 2020 more than 500,000 consumers changed electricity suppliers
, SEE Energy NewsMore than 500,000 consumers changed their electricity suppliers in 2020, which is approximately the same as in the previous year, according to Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE).
Latest data shows that 530,064 consumers in the low and medium-voltage categories, of 6,796,034 in total, switched suppliers in 2020. The largest switch rate was registered in low-voltage commercial and industrial consumers – 103,382 out of 1,170,250 consumers (8.83 %), changed their suppliers last year. Low-voltage households consumers followed with 8.69 %, namely 423,141 out of 4,871,122 in total.
State-controlled Public Power Corporation (PPC) remained the largest supplier in 2020, representing 77.8 % of the total number of low and medium-voltage consumers and 63.2 % of total electricity consumption. However, that these figures fell by 6 and 8 %, respectively, compared to 2019.
