Hungarian Ministry of Energy announced that more than 1 GW was added to the country’s solar capacity in the first six months. Total solar capacity reached over 5 GW. The increase was close to the 1.1 GW rise in solar capacity in 2022.
The combined capacity of utility-scale solar power plants now stands over 3 GW, while solar panels on more than 200,000 homes account for the rest of the capacity. Hungary’s solar installed capacity could reach 12 GW by 2030, doubling the initial targets.
