Macedonia: 480 GWh of electricity produced in January
, SEE Energy NewsTotal electricity consumption in Macedonia in January 2018 amounted to 763,508 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 39.347 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 414,291 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 63,301 tons.
According to the data from State Statistical Office, 66.8 % of the consumed electricity in January was covered by domestic production, while 98.5 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.
Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in January 2018 stood at 480,193 MWh, which is 29.3 % less than in the same month last year (679,092 MWh). 241,531 MWh or 50.3 % was produced at thermal power plants (-26.9 % compared to January 2017), 112,450 MWh or 23.4 % was produced at hydropower plants (-32.7 %), 112,578 MWh or 23.4 % at combined heat and power plants (-32.2 %) and 7,355 MWh or 1.53 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
