Macedonia: HPP Spilje and HPP Globocica working at full capacity

The average inflow of water in the reservoirs is more than 60 cubic meters per second. Both reservoirs are 85 % full and have enough water to produce additional 50 million kWh of electricity.

Increased inflow of water in the accumulations due to heavy rain created very favorable conditions for operation of hydropower plants in Crni Drim catchment area, thus HPP Spilje and HPP Globocica are working at full capacity.

Up to 10 May, these two hydropower plants have produced over 221 million kWh of electricity. According to the officials of Macedonian power utility ELEM, HPP Spilje produced 131 million kWh since the beginning of the year, which is about 10 % more than planned for that period, while HPP Globocica produced about 90 million kWh of electricity or 3 % more than planned.

The average inflow of water in the reservoirs is more than 60 cubic meters per second. Both reservoirs are 85 % full and have enough water to produce additional 50 million kWh of electricity.

Last year these two hydropower plants produced a total of 542 million kWh of electricity, which is considered as one of the best production results. It is expected that high production will be recorded in 2016 as well, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
