The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced that Macedonian electricity transmission system operator MEPSO intends to use part of proceeds from a loan from the Bank in order to finance the rehabilitation of StipProbistip 110 kV transmission line.
Contracted works will be financed with a proceeds of a loan and the tender is open to companies from any country. The works include replacement of 110 kV transmission line between the cities of Stip and Probistip. The concrete poles, which are over 40 years old, are in very bad condition and require urgent replacement. Frequent electricity outages in this area occurred in the past few years due to pole ruptures.
It is expected that contracted works should start on 1 July 2017 and should last for 12 months.
