The current electricity situation, forecasts for November, as well as an overview of repair and maintenance programs were among the main topics of meeting of the Board of Directors of “Electric power industry of Serbia”. Session led by Dr. Aca Markovic, CEO of EPS – was attended by Mirjana Filipovic, Assistant Minister of Energy, Environment and Development and Aleksandar Obradovic, acting Director General of EPS. At the meeting today, the Board members chose Zivotije Jovanovic, former Director of the Directorate for the distribution of electricity to be Deputy Director General of EPS.
The indicators of production in EPS in the ten-month period- were presented to members of the Board by Dragan Vlaisavljević, director of the Directorate for electricity trading in EPS. He explained that in the 10 months this year – EPS capacities produced 600 million kilowatt – hours less. In relation to the balance the production was smaller for 2, 1 per cent, while compared to the 2011 it was 5, 2 percent smaller. The consumption was smaller for 727 million kWh, or 2, 7 percent compared to the balance and 1, 9 percent compared to 2011.
– The largest shortfall in production happened in HPP which produced 940 million kilowatt – hours of electricity, or 11, 9 percent less than planned – said Vlaisavljević.
He commented the forecasts for November and said that consumption in the area without Kosovo and Metohija, is estimated at 3, 051 billion kWh, which is three percent less than the balance. Zoran Bozovic, director of the Directorate for energy production in EPS, presented the major repairs that were done or that are in progress.
– Satisfactory repairs were made on thermal capacities and 20 thermal units are ready for winter. The repairs of the plant “Kostolac B1” and the plant “Kostolac B2”, which will be ready for the start up on December 9, still remain- Bozovic said.
Bozovic noted that two generator units in HPP “Djerdap 1” are being repaired, generator unit 2 is in a month-long shut down and generator unit 4 is currently being revitalized. In HPP “Bajina Bastar” revitalization of four units is in progress and it will last for 11 months. He presented the most important jobs in the mining sector, stressing that all the plants are ready for the winter season.
EPS Board members approved the Loan Agreement with the German KfW Bank for “MB Kolubara”, and the decisions were made in connection with the adoption of plans for public enterprises in Kosovo and Metohija. At today’s meeting today, representatives of the new assemblies were elected: in “Kolubara” Dragoljub Lakovic, Advisor to the CEO of EPS – in TENT Zoran Bozovic, director of Directorate for electricity production, in “Panonske TPP” Milos Stojanovic, Director of Directorate for strategy and investments. A decision was made to appoint Bojan Atlagić to be the representative of the Novi Sad branch in “Elektrovojvodina “. EPS Board made a conclusion in accordance with the recommendation of the Government of Serbia in connection with the calculation of value added tax in September.
