Director of Benergo Nikola Cojbasic said that the small hydropower plant built on the town waterworks is finally operational. following numerous complications and administrative barriers. The company signed an agreement with the Montenegrin electricity market operator COTEE on the incentive price of electricity from renewable energy sources. Cojbasic said that this is a useful and cost-effective investment, considering that the plant will realize a monthly income of around 20,000 euros. It has installed capacity of 300 kW, which means that, considering the current market prices, it will produce electricity worth around 250,000 euros on an annual level.
