Electricity market for residential and small commercial consumers has been liberalized since 1 January 2019. The Government of North Macedonia adopted a decision on the proposal of the Regulatory Energy Commission (RKE) for the establishment of electricity market operator MEMO.
As of 1 July 2019, those who have not entered the liberalized market, are supplied by a universal supplier – EVN Home. EVN Home is a subsidiary of EVN Macedonia, who won this year’s tender for the selection of universal supplier. The company will supply those customers who choose to stay in the regulated market within the next five years.
