North Macedonia: January electricity production
, SEE Energy NewsIn January 2021 total electricity consumption in North Macedonia amounted to 878,848 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 47.5 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 343,627 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 89,176 tons. According to the data from State Statistical Office, 65.7 % of the consumed electricity in January was covered by domestic production, while 96.2 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production. Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in January 2021 stood at 514,194 MWh, which is by 7.4 % lower compared to the same month last year. 164,337 MWh or 32 % was produced at thermal power plants (- 47 % compared to January 2020), 175,184 MWh or 34.1 % was produced at hydropower plants (+ 50.7 %), 157,486 MWh or 30.6 % in CHP plants (+ 46.9 %) and 11,064 MWh or 2.15 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
