In October 2020, in North Macedonia, total electricity consumption amounted to 622,618 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 22.5 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 422,147 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 94,639 tons. According to the data from State Statistical Office, 61.6 % of the consumed electricity in October was covered by domestic production, while 96.4 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production. Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in October 2020 stood at 358,056 MWh, which is by 0.6 % lower compared to the same month last year. 207,685 MWh or 58 % was produced at thermal power plants (- 1.9 % compared to October 2019), 58,610 MWh or 16.4 % was produced at hydropower plants (- 15.8 %), 76,857 MWh or 21.5 % in CHP plants and 8,074 MWh or 2.25 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
