North Macedonian state-owned power utility ESM announced that its coal-fired thermal power plant Oslomej will be put into operation in the evening hours of 4 December.
The statement from the company said that, in the previous period, the necessary maintenance activities were performed at the plant in order to ensure its stable and reliable operation.
ESM operates three units at TPP Bitola, TPP Oslomej and oil-fired TPP Negotino, which was re- commissioned last year after the ten-year pause. The company argues that it manages to cover most of the consumption from domestic sources, however, the opposition claims that the company has spent some 33 million euros on electricity imports between 7 November and 7 December.
