Republic Srpska would never allow the construction of power plants that would harm its citizens and citizens of neighboring countries, it was announced after the meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Spatial Planning of the Republic Srpska with the delegation from the Government of Montenegro. At the meeting the draft study on the environmental impact of hydro power plants on Drina was presented, which shows that there is no negative impact on the environment.
Republic Srpska does not give up the construction of hydro power plants on the river Drina. In their Ministry of Spatial Planning they say that the draft study on the environmental impact of hydro power plants Buk Bijela and Foca showed that they do not cause a negative impact on the ecology of Montenegro and the Republic Srpska.

In the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro they say that they do not oppose the construction of hydro power plants on Drina, but they will form a panel of experts who will analyze all aspects and possibilities of their negative impact.
“I believe that the Government of Montenegro will support the authorities of Republic Srpska and not oppose the construction of the power plants” said Deputy Minister Ivana Vojnovic.
The construction of hydro power plants on Drina was the theme of yesterday’s meeting in Banja Luka. In responsible ministries of Montenegro and RS agree that these power plants can only be built in an environmentally sustainable manner.
