Romania: A decrease in OPCOM average day-ahead price, SEE Energy News
In October 2020 on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM the average price of electricity amounted to 41.93 euros/MWh, which is 26.91 % lower compared to the same month in 2019 and 8.56 % lower compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 45.85 euros/MWh.
Traded volume in October reached 1.983 million MWh, which is 0.41 % more than in October 2019, and 15.13 % more than in September 2020. Average traded volume in October 2020 amounted to 2,662.8 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in October amounted to 85.57 million euros, which is by 27.17 % lower compared to October last year (117.5 million euros) and 6.93 % more than in the previous month (80.03 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in October 2020 amounted to 43.03 %. A total of 52,203.6 MWh was traded on intraday market in October (115.69 % more than in October 2019, and 17.18 % more compared to September 2020), with an average price of 41.31 euros/MWh. Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in October amounted to 1.163 million MWh, with an average price of 54.09 euros/MWh.
