Romania: Acquisition of the year in the supply segment, MET group acquires Repower Romania, SEE Energy News
MET group, specializing in electricity, gas and oil products trading, with the seat in Switzerland, purchased electricity supply company – Repower Romania, branch Repower AG. Representatives of MET group say that this acquisition represents acceleration of the expanding strategy of Swiss group in Central and Eastern Europe.
MET group has been active in Romania since 2009. Acquired company, Repower Romania, will operate under MET brand. Transfer of Repower into MET group portfolio is expected in September. Financial details of the transaction have not been announced.
MET group is one of the most active companies in European energy sector. It is present through its branches in 10 countries, on 25 national gas markets and 21 hubs of international trading, with significant access to end customers in Central and Eastern Europe.
Repower has been present on the Romanian market since 2010 and it covers about 5% of the local market. Main activity of the company is electricity supply for small and middle enterprises, with annual consumption less than 70 GWh. The company has about 500 clients and over 1,500 points of final consumption, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
