The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 93.84 euros/MWh in July 2021, which is 153.11 % higher compared to the same month in 2020 and 21.96 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 76.95 euros/MWh.
Traded volume in July reached 1.988 million MWh, which is 7.19 % more than in July 2020, and 8.66 % less than in June 2021. Average traded volume in July 2021 amounted to 2,672.1 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in July amounted to 190.1 million euros, which is by 173.37 % more compared to July last year (69.54 million euros) and 13.89 % more than in the previous month (166.93 million euros).
The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in July 2021 amounted to 41.03 %. A total of 115,915.9 MWh was traded on intraday market in July (206.47 % more than in July 2020, and 12.4 % more compared to June 2021), with an average price of 96.3 euros/MWh (160.2 % higher compared to July 2020 and 22.9 % higher compared to the previous month).
Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in July amounted to 1.366 million MWh, with an average price of 55.33 euros/MWh.
